How to make it
- Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add the oil and water and knead a soft dough. Let it rest under a towel for 20 minutes.
- with a grown-up Cut sticks only where it’s allowed — one from each bush. Sharpen the tip with a small knife: sitting down, carving away from you, your other paw behind the blade.
- Divide the dough into 6 pieces, roll each into a long rope, and wind it around the tip of a stick in a spiral.
- with a grown-up Bake over the embers, not in the flames, slowly turning the stick, for 8–10 minutes, until the bread is golden.
- with a grown-up When the bread is off, put a precooked sausage on the stick tip and hold it over the embers for 3–5 minutes, turning, until it’s hot all the way through.
- Before eating, blow on it and let it cool a little — everything off the fire is very hot!
